Welcome to ABA Insight’s Ypsilanti Center! Our dedicated team of Licensed Behavior Analysts, with over 30 years of combined experience, collaborates with individuals diagnosed with autism to create meaningful, joyful relationships and develop language skills for independence.
At ABA Insight, we offer engaging, evidence-based social skills groups designed to help learners of all levels build meaningful peer relationships, strengthen communication skills, and gain confidence in social situations. Whether your child is just beginning to develop social skills or is ready for more advanced friendship-building strategies, our groups provide individualized support and opportunities to practice skills with peers in a positive,
welcoming environment.
Building Social Connections
PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills)
For adolescents and teens, ABA Insight is a credentialed provider for PEERS, a 14-16-week evidence-based social skills intervention developed to help motivated learners learn how to make and maintain friendships. The curriculum teaches practical, real-world social skills through direct instruction, role-play, and guided practice with peers. Topics include starting and maintaining conversations, finding common interests, choosing appropriate friends, using humor appropriately, handling rejection and bullying, navigating disagreements, hosting get-togethers, and maintaining friendships over time. Parents participate alongside their teens by learning coaching strategies that support skill development and generalization outside of group sessions. PEERS provides structured opportunities for participants to practice new skills and build lasting social connections.
Connection Crew (Ages 7–12)
Connection Crew is a fun and interactive social skills group created for children ages 7–12. This group uses structured games, cooperative activities, and hands-on learning experiences for participants to develop essential social and emotional skills in a supportive peer environment. Learner's practice making introductions, understanding body language and facial expressions, engaging in reciprocal conversations, taking turns, solving problems as a group, and working collaboratively with peers. The group also focuses on flexibility, teamwork, emotional regulation, and repairing social interactions following minor conflicts. These skills are taught through engaging activities that make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

ABA Insight is a trusted provider of ABA. Our clinical services and operations are accredited by the Autism Commission on Quality (ACQ) and we're a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) Training Site. We’ve established positive relationships with local Community Mental Health (CMH) offices and Eastern Michigan University (EMU). We service Washtenaw (Ypsilanti), Monroe, and Clinton, Eaton, Ingham counties.
