PEERS

PEERS is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens in middle and high school who are interested in making and keeping friends. It is a 16-week program with 90-minute sessions during which teens and parents participate in simultaneous, but different groups. Teens will learn conversation skills including entering and exiting conversations, using electronic communication and humor appropriately, organizing get-togethers, sportsmanship, handling disagreements, dealing with rumors, gossip and reputations, and handling teasing and bullying. Parents will learn how to facilitate their child’s friendships by participating in the sessions and with weekly socialization homework. Parent participation is required. Please visit the PEERS website at https://www.semel.ucla.edu/peers to find out more information or contact our main office: office@abainsight.net or 734-252-6522.

PEERS groups are forming regularly, each spring and fall. If this group might be a good fit for you, call us for session dates and next steps!
